I have beat shironeko once. Shironeko said he/she was studying for midterms.
And I happened to be catching up on releases. I refreshed because of my shìtty internet and I got lucky. It is my one proud moment. One and only.
I don’t f5 because I’m usually on mobile.
Even if I have notifications and click right away, shironeko shill beats me.

i managed to beat shiro on a release by mere seconds it was so close i originally thought i was a tie
it was the result of a three and a half day stakeout more or less
i got very little sleep.
not going to be doing that again anytime soon

that happened to meto , but at that time , I wasn’t seeing Shironeko first on EVERY SINGLE POST , so I didn’t get to enjoy enough x(. And I tried to get first again in the some days ago staying awake as long as I could , but I didn’t get ( and still doesn’t) any notification , by the time I noticed the release ,Shironeko was already basking in his victory again ;(

Even releasing a completely translated chapter 4 days after raw release is considered pretty FAST , and yer doing benevolant work for other fans , yet they can’t understand and be grateful cheh

those people don’t get how complicated it is to decently translate a novel
they also don’t get how its even more complicated and difficult to decently translate a manga.
its easy as a reader to look at a slow release schedule and say “Oh they are just lazy”. NO, good quality translations generally take time. especially if that person is doing by themselves. many people think its as simple as copypasteing a paragraph into a MTL. it IS that simple if you want an illegible mess. but if you want a decent translation you need to wait. EVEN Imouto-Sama has trouble with translating i am sure as many have seen his work is not perfect. there are always grammar errors and misspellings. but that is to be expected no one is perfect but he doesn’t generally leave it a mess. he gladly accepts help from others. he does have his ancient relic transations like the beginning of arge and other long running series but you can see he has improved along with the help from others. this separates him from people like ASIAN HOBBYIST who don’t care about improving themselves. i have no problem with people using MTL as a tool what i do have a problem with is them using MTL as their ONLY tool. why is it that everyone still uses google translate despite all the hate for it?
because despite its flaws it is still USEFUL to a degree. i have alot of respect for Imouto-Sama not only for his translation quality but also for his attitude. i read his comments. from what i have read i see he has a desire for improvement even now. he doesn’t shy away from mistakes. he can take valid criticism. these are qualities that more and more people are lacking and its these qualities that are necessary for growth, anyone can blame someone else for their failures. in fact it is far easier and less painful to do so
admitting you were wrong that you made a mistake is painful. no one wants to be wrong. it takes strength to admit your mistakes and own up to it.
currently i see far more examples of people avoiding the responsibility of owning up to their mistakes than i do of example of people like Imouto-Sama
its a breath of fresh air.

Don’t worry buddy , you just said EVERYTHING that ought to be said , and I myself read many novels , but don’t see such great translators that often , and I mean , again , he can ALWAYS just read it for himself , but NO , he still take some of his free time for us and his passion for novels , and I can only respect and be grateful to those type of people ^^
