Better treat the anime as another series.
To think they make “Mithrill Roar” a criminal hunter group. Look like they don’t intend to make the anime long because Red Oath will meet “Mithrill Roar” again soon in next 7 chapters.

I should note that the criminal group was not Mithril Roar, Mile does get an invitation from them at the end of the fight.
I personally like it a bit more than others here because I feel that it adapts the tone, character and humor of the series well. I was never really into this series for the exact plot. Although I am upset what they did to the world building,

Yeah me to, I only love the characters but not the actual anime plot. Lots of characters were missing. For example the guy that mile made as escape goat, the d rank graduates who sold the nendroids. Sigh…. Maybe the only good thing about the anime is the opening theme where the average crimson vow were dancing(I know it’s red oath here, it’s an anime usage I also adapted the crimson vow)

Well luckily the “Mittrill Roar” are not criminals they were just largely glossed over and not a part of the final exam. But yeah Hope it gets better but they have already left out many important side characters.

I too read your post, though to be honest im kind of glag what they did, skip the whole dad tring too take over the noble house, it was rather long and while mile was a victim of it and its why she ran… kind of, she really played little part in it. The dad just got busted by the king and done. It was a long opening plot that would just wast what time the anime has.
As for adding the noble lady who loves lolis. She does fit the mood of the series well.
As for changing the story and plot, what even is the plot in the novle exactly, wandering shenanigans? Does that count as a plot? Yes there is the whole doom approaches from another world plot but that rarely goes anywhere.
All in all they are keeping the characters personalities and the joking mood intact and those really matter more than the plot. Imagine if they stayed true to scource and she didnt meet red oath till episode 4-6 as her dad arc happens and then they rush into the other worldly invader. To get the content in there would just be no time for jokes.
Plus this way we get to see some new jokes, like that hunter that mile was suposed to fight just book it.

let it be noted i fully admit i may be ignorant as i only watched the opening and saw a floating cat with a N on its forehead. considering its floating and has an N on its head i would ASSUME that the N stands for nanomachine.

Yes, while I expected them to skip over the majority of her backstory to fit in more than just some adventuring into a mere 13 episodes, I was really disheartened by the changes to the golems. Did the production staff even read passed the first volume?! Seems like they just read the first volume and thought they’d show how great they are by adding some outdated cultural references, their own generic villains and completely missed what’s really happening in the background.

First, Mile may be the fastest to translate, but it also has the most chapters per arc, so it balances out somewhat.
Now, as for the actual chapter, I can’t wait for Mile and co to cook something better to prove that it’s not too hard to make something with a similar score, and thus, it’s not harsh to say it’s only somewhat above “average”

Pretty dissapointed with the story and the world building though, and i treated it as a spinoff so it was fun, and as far as i watched, the seiyuus have done their job well.
