    • Believe me, I’m crazy for my hometown’s cookings too when I went for study (different town). They use salt instead of soy sauce, absolutely horrible.

And remind you, this world only cook with salt and vinegar.
You can try cook any raw food with only salt and vinegar to see if you can eat it. (No spice, butter, cheese, pepper or anything else allow)

And what she cooked isn’t really japanese food:
Herb grilled chicken, Salad, Sandwich, herb soup.

      • The soy sauce in Brazil has no noticeable flavor. I tried it in a salad, and didn’t noticed any difference (or even flavor).

Traditionally the barbecue in my town is just meat and salt. Not even spice, butter, pepper, or anything else. It’s the so-called “churrasco”, it’s a tradition here.

There’s some things that japanese do different. Grilled chicken here is only salt and chicken, for example (barbecue…).

        • I never say “use soy sauce for Salad”
I mean the food in different town use salt instead of soy sauce and it’s horrible.
Imaging eat spaghetti with no sauce and only salt.

Barbecue can eat just fine with just salt. It’s also a traditon in my hometown.

But what I mean is eat every single food with only salt.
Like morning: use egg make omelette to eat with sandwich and salt (no pepper and butter, cheese…)
Lunch: bread + soup (simle boiled meat with salt) (no other spice)
Dinner: bread + soup (simle boiled meat with salt) (no other spice)

And not just Japan, Asian like us also grill chicken with herbs and salt.
          Sandwich isn’t japanese food.
Next food will be soup with herb (my hometown also do it)

      • I think you can still make oglio olio with spaghetti. Burn the meat, take the meat juice/oil and then fry the garlic in it. Later use boil the spaghetti but don’t dry all the water. Mix the spaghetti, leftover spaghetti boil water and garlic mix with meat juice/oil it in the pan also add salt. Heat it to almost dry.

The water with spaghetti flour mix in it make the water not too liquid.
